【26 November 2023 | Hong Kong】Following the success of its previous two editions, International MotorXpo Hong Kong 2023 is returning to AsiaWorld-Expo from 14 to 17 December 2023. The largest scale-ever, the show this year will take up four typical halls and feature seven themed zones with 9 key highlights.

Jointly organised by International Motor Show (HK) Management Limited, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and the Chinese Culture Institute (CCI), IMXpo 2023 endeavours to promote automotive culture, history, education and the latest technology, providing an unparalleled opportunity for industry leaders, manufacturers, and consumers to connect and engage in a comprehensive exposition. It strives to showcase the very unique car culture of the city, in addition to other relevant products and services.

Occupying a total area of 21,000 square metres, the show will be joined by over 100 exhibitors, and displaying around 200 automobiles, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles, from different brands, different origins and different times.

To provide visitors with an excellent exhibition experience, the show is divided into seven themed zones:

• Supercar Zone: Showcasing some of the world’s most luxurious and high-performance vehicles;
• Hong Kong Autofest: Featuring a classic MINI show, Unprohibited! for Japanese Domestic Market (JDM), and a Car Parts Museum.
• Parts, Accessories, and Services Avenue: Providing a platform for manufacturers and suppliers to showcase their after-sales products and services.
• IMX CARnival: Offering a range of exciting activities, such as the Toycar Salon, International E-sports Race, Remote Car Competition, and the presence of three hand-made wooden supercars from Vietnam.
• Chinese EV Pavilion: Showcasing the latest developments in electric vehicle models and technology;
• International Show Room: Featuring a variety of vehicles from around the world;
• Fete Two Wheels: Presenting a wide variety of motorbikes.

IMXpo 2023 promises to be an unforgettable experience for automotive enthusiasts, industry professionals, and families alike. With its diverse range of activities and exhibitions, the event offers something for everyone with the following highlights:  

• A strong list of vehicles making their first public appearance in Hong Kong

Thanks to the effort of our exhibitors, IMXpo this year sees a list of vehicles making their first appearance in Hong Kong, including MG Convertible Cyberster, Denza D9, ZEEKR 001 FR, Hongqi L5, HQ9, H9+, Tank 300, Skyworth SUV 620, Benz eActros, eEconic and an electric light duty CV from Foton. For some, names can only be disclosed closer to the event date.

In our Supercar Zone, visitors can see a very special and rare Pagani together with other supercars, such as McLaren Senna GTR, McLaren Elva, RUF CTR Porsche, and Maserati MC20 GT2.

At Fete Two Wheels, visitors can see for themselves a special edition of Vespa, and the latest models of Ducati, and a lot more.

• International forum to look into the role of Hong Kong

As an important part of IMXpo 2023, an international forum on “Export of China’s automobiles and the strategic positioning of Hong Kong” will be held on 14 December 2023. To look into the roles of Hong Kong in supporting Chinese EV going global as well as analysing the challenges ahead, the forum will serve as an excellent platform for exchanging insights and fostering collaborations. Distinguished speakers, including prominent industry leaders, renowned experts, etc. will join the panel discussions, sharing their insights and expertise.

• Wooden supercars from Vietnam

Few years ago, on international auto news channels, a video showing a Vietnamese father making a wooden car for his son attracted a lot of attention. The family is coming to IMXpo bringing along with them three of their masterpieces: Lamborghini Vision, Mercedes Vision AVTR and Rolls Royce Boat Tail.

• A strong list of Classic Mini

There will be 20 Classic Mini displaying at IMXpo’s very English styled garage, including a 1968 MK2 Cooper S, a 1973 Clubman GT, and a 1980 Mini Moke. Each Classic Mini contains a romantic story behind, explaining the strong tie between the car and its owner.

• Modified cars or race cars?

It doesn’t matter whether you are a fan of modified cars or race cars, because at IMXpo you will be able to see them both. Subaru BRZ, Audi RS3 TCR, Lexus LC500? Or eye-catching modified passenger cars, with race car outlook, from Audi A3 LMS to classic Toyota Celica… just to name a few.

• Packed programmes to make your day

In partnership with the China Hong Kong Automobile Association (CHKAA) and ER Sports, IMXpo will present an interschools STEM car racing competition, as well as another one for Asia Pacific professional gamers.

There will also be two sharing sessions, one on Classic Mini and one on e-sports, to cater for the different interests of our visitors. For details, please refer to the onsite programmes.

To further stimulate young people’s interest in automobiles, STEM workshops hosted by automobile associations for local primary students will be held on the first two days of the show.

• Showcase of historic car repairing equipment, parts, rims and photos

IMXpo will work with the Hong Kong Vehicle Repair Merchants Association and the Association of Auto Batteries and Tyres Industry to present a Car Parts Museum. At the Museum, visitors will be able to see at a close distance some very historic car repairing equipment, parts and accessories, as well as rims of those days.

• Fine wine, nice food

For the first time IMXpo will serve visitors food and beverage. VIP ticket holders are eligible for a glass of champagne. Visitors of Standard Ticket who fancy a nice drink could also buy from our bar located at the Supercar zone. Apart from fine wine, signature local food will also be available at our Food Trucks this year.

• Miss IMX Contest

The organiser will hold the Miss IMX Contest on the final day of the show in order to promote automobile culture and boost the ambiance. The models who will compete in the final round will be selected. The most energetic and dynamic models will be selected as IMXpo ambassadors to promote local automotive culture internationally.

              Last but not least, ticket holders of IMXpo can enjoy free admission to (GBA) Hong Kong Schools Expo, from 15-17 December at Hall 5 of AsiaWorld-Expo.
